The Patriots 02/03 Girls participated in the Labor day tournament in Truckee, CA this past weekend and took 3rd place by winning 3 out of 4 games in the U10 girls division.

This tournament marked the start of this new team for the 2012 fall season with the 4 games played being the first time the girls played together.

The girls played the first game on Saturday winning vs. Nevada Elite Football Club 03′ Black by score of 6-0 but lost in the afternoon game to Barca 03 by the score of 0-6.

Sunday morning saw the girls rebound back from the defeat to Barca 03′ and they won their game vs. Legacy Football Club 03′ by  similar score of 6-0 and with this win, ended up in second place of their group and made it to the game for 3rd place on Monday morning.

The 3rd place game was played under almost perfect conditions in Truckee with the girls looking elegant and classy in their white kits and playing with the speed and sharpness of a more seasoned team. They played vs. Nevada Elite Football Club 03′ Blue and dominated affairs going into half time with a 3-0 lead on the score. The second half saw more of the same with coaches Matt and JJ making changes to the field positions and line up to continue the team’s development. The final whistle came with the score at 6-0 in favor of the Patriots, giving them the 3rd place finish in the team’s first outing into the competitive division.
