Sagebrush Patriots U10 & U11 Teams Make 2 Championship Games at the 2011 Friendship Tournament!

This past weekend of October 8-9 2011, the Sagebrush Patriots Youth Soccer Development Program placed two of our three competitive teams in the Championship Games at the Friendship Tournament in Reno Nevada.

Overall our teams showed and played extremely well and the results of the games speak for themselves about the effort our players put into this weekend.

The U11 Patriots Red team lost a hard fought 1st game vs. SMSC Strikers 0-2, but showed their determination to leave their mark by winning their second game on Saturday vs. South Tahoe 3-0, and then again on Sunday morning by winning their game vs. the Capital Soccer Club Alliance 6-0.

The U11 Patriots White team showed great effort by winning their 1st game vs. the Capital Soccer Club Strikers 3-1 and drawing their 2nd game vs. Legacy Blue 1-1 on Saturday afternoon. These results placed them in the semifinal game on Sunday morning where they defeated the Legacy Green team in penalty kicks after ending the game in a draw and thus, advancing to the championship game where their hard work gave them the second place finish after falling to the SMSC Strikers by a score of 0-4.

The U10 Patriots team dominated their 1st game on Friday night by winning vs. the SMSC Strikers 02 by a score of 6-2, then proceeded to take care of business by winning their 2nd game on Saturday vs. the Nevada Elite SC U10 team by score of 5-0. These two results placed them in the Semifinal game on Sunday morning where they played their game vs. Legacy FC where they won by score of 5-0 advancing to the championship game. The Championship game was a hard game vs. the Ajax U10 team from the Bay Area which had outscored their other opponents by a combined score of 35-1 . The U10 Patriots executed a great game where they held their own by having a few goal scoring opportunities during the first half. Unfortunately Ajax finally broke through the defense on the 20th minute and the first half ended 0-1 in favor of Ajax. The game continued to be hard pressed and the girls played extremely well but could not stop 3 more goals in the last 12 minutes of the second half to lose the game by score of 0-4. This result gave the U10 Patriots the second place finish and set us up as the best Northern Nevada Team in the tournament.
